Description
Organic Double-Standard Sweet-Corn Seeds
Grown and harvested in Ontario, organic Double-Standard Sweet-Corn seeds have 73 days to maturity. Early to mature and germinates well in cool soil. This is one of the best open pollinated organic sweet corn varieties. Bicolour ears are filled with 12-14 rows of white/yellow kernals. Sow both colours and you will have mostly bicolour ears and some pure yellow ears. Sow the white kernals only and you will have an early, delicious all white sweet corn. All are sweet and tender with good old-fashioned corn flavour. Based on two North American heirloom corn varieties.
Planting Instructions
Sow directly when ground temperature reaches 18 degrees Celsius. Cold ground temperatures will result in poor germination as the seed is untreated and may rot. Space rows 76-90 cm apart, sowing every 15-17 cm at a depth of 2.5 cm. To achieve maximum pollination sow corn in blocks as opposed to a single row. Corn is wind-pollinated and having the plants in close proximity to each other will ensure well filled ears.
