Organic Stocky-Red-Roaster Sweet Pepper Seeds
Grown and harvested in Ontario, organic Stocky-Red-Roaster Sweet-Pepper seeds take 65 days to produce green, and 85 days for sweet red peppers. Rich red Italian pepper with sweet flavour and thick flesh. Perfect for roasting and quite easy to peel afterwards. Straight uncrumpled sides, smooth skin, thick walls and deep colour with high yields and great quality. Strong plants bear a heavy crop of 15 to 18 cm long tapered fruits that are 7-8 cm at the shoulder.
Start peppers indoors 8 weeks before your frost free date. Sow seeds .5 cm deep and keep warm (27-32˚C). Pepper seeds germinate slowly in cool soil. Move seedlings into larger cells or pots when first set of true leaves appear and keep plants warm. Plant out into well drained, fertile soil rich in phosphorus and calcium once there is no chance of frost and the soil has warmed. Row covers and black plastic mulch can extend the season by providing extra warmth.
