Organic Cascadia-Snap Pea Seeds

Grown and harvested in Ontario, organic Cascadia-Snap Pea seeds take 60 days to reach maturity. These tasty and productive plants reach 80 cm. and need very little support. This main-season snap can be eaten when the pods are flat but are even better when plump with tiny peas. Crunchy and flavourful. Resistant to pea enation mosaic virus and powdery mildew.

Planting Instructions

Sow peas in a well drained area as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring. Seed thickly in a 10 cm band spacing seeds about 2.5 cm apart and 1.5-2.5 cm deep. Do not thin as peas like company. A good compost or organic fertilizer will increase yields. Tall varieties will need twine or mesh to support them. Provide pea brush (twiggy branches stuck in the soil) for shorter varieties to climb on for easier picking. Pick often to keep productive and try not to eat them all while picking! Peas are at their sweetest in cool weather so spring and fall crops are possible. Sow fall crops about 2 months before first fall frost.
