Organic Sorrel Greens Seeds
Organic Sorrel Greens seeds produce fresh, lemon flavoured greens on a perennial plant. Pick the 20 cm. leaves early in the spring and late in the fall. Use raw in salads and cooked in the classic French sorrel soup. Pollen provides food for beneficial insects when other food sources are scarce. Hardy to zone 4.
Start indoors 4 weeks before last frost or direct seed as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring. Sprinkle seeds on the soil surface, press in and cover very lightly. Plant out after there is no danger of a hard frost. Space plants 20-30 cm. apart. Harvest outer leaves initially and, once mature, the entire plant can be cut just above the crown. Remove seed stalks to prolong summer harvest. A fresh flush of tasty leaves will appear in the fall. 45 days baby leaf, 120 days to flower.
